Appreciating this thread, the word vulnerable, and the quote of one step at a time on the staircase, stay with me, as if I am writing a poem, and a vulnerable staircase either invites me to climb up or to climb down or not to climb at all. Climbing up the staircase I begin to understand, climbing down the staircase I begin to feel, more deeply with both, climbing up and down the staircase. If I stay on this particular stair, which, of course is crumbling, I am going to miss the plot point, in life and in writing that is the next step, up or down.

Winter Solstice approaches,

The hermit is thriving and sometimes I love the feeling of running up a staircase.
